Valerie and Her Week of Wonders (1970)

This film is packed with all kinds of themes to dig into, and I got to see it at the MotelX 2024 festival, which was awesome. People usually call it a surreal vampire movie, but honestly, it feels more like it’s taking a shot at the Catholic Church. The dreamy, weird vibe of the film seems to focus more on exploring ideas about repression, power, and innocence.
