Cuckoo (2024)

I got to see Cuckoo at MotelX 2024, followed by a Q&A with the director, Tilman Singer. The Q&A wasn’t the greatest , but the movie definitely left an impression.

I’m not huge on sci-fi horror, but this felt more like a monster movie, which worked for me. Despite its flaws, I ended up really liking it. The way it focused on family dynamics, especially motherhood, was a nice touch. Hunter’s performance was also solid and brought a lot to the movie.

That said, the special effects were a bit of a letdown. For a movie like this, I was hoping for more impressive visuals, but some of the effects just didn’t hit the mark. Still, there was enough going on to keep me engaged.
